1. Who we are

Quizvela is operated by Quizvela (postal address available on request at contact@quizvela.com). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@quizvela.com.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: your name, email address, preferred language and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares with us.
• Learning content: the documents, text, links and topics you submit, and the quizzes, flashcards and mind maps generated from them.
• Usage data: answers, scores, streaks and the number of generations, used to run the service and enforce plan limits.
• Technical data: logs needed to keep the service secure and working (IP address, browser type, error reports).

3. How we use your data

• To provide the service: generating, grading and scheduling your study material (contract).
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
• To send essential emails such as sign-in links and password resets (contract).
• To improve Quizvela using aggregated, non-identifying statistics (legitimate interest).

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your private documents to advertise to you.

4. AI processing

To generate and grade questions, the relevant part of your content is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) under a data processing agreement. Under the provider's API terms, API data is not used to train its models by default. Do not upload documents containing sensitive personal data about other people.

5. Service providers

We rely on processors who act on our instructions: Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in the European Union), OpenAI (AI generation), Vercel (hosting) and, when you subscribe, Stripe (payments). Some may process data outside your country under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Retention

We keep your account and content while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep billing records longer.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict some processing, and withdraw consent. Write to contact@quizvela.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

8. Cookies

We only use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and remember your language. We do not use advertising cookies.

9. Children

Quizvela is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age for consent in your country, without a parent's or school's permission.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and notify you of significant changes by email or in the app.
